How the mirror is run
Push-triggered sync
Where upstream supports it we sync on notification, not on a timer. Median lag behind the primary archive is six minutes.
Verified, not just copied
Repository signatures are checked after every sync. A signature failure halts publication and pages a volunteer.
Three protocols
HTTPS for package managers, rsync for downstream mirrors, BitTorrent for release-day ISO storms.
Dual stack, everywhere
IPv4 and IPv6 on every service. Forty-four percent of our traffic is already v6 and we would like it to be more.
Public statistics
Bandwidth, per-distribution volume and sync health, updated every minute and available as JSON.

No logging beyond need
Access logs keep the request line and a truncated address for 24 hours, purely for abuse handling. Nothing is shared.
